say it ain't so

~G2~

no homework today. technically yes, but...

a few quotes of the week:
"-knock knock
-i've heard this one before"
"In that year, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson of the White Sox was widely believed to have been asked, by a crushed and plaintive little boy, to preserve and protect some childhood illusions and 'say it ain't so.'"
"The Petroleum Equipment Institute is working on a campaign to try and make people aware of fires as a result of 'static' (that is, static electricity) at gas pumps. They have researched 150 cases of these fires...Out of 150 cases, almost all of them were women...Most had on rubber-soled shoes...Don't ever use cell phones when pumping gas. (The RF energy from a cell phone can cause a sparking on bare metal...)"

one guess as to which one is a BIG FAT LIE. or maybe which one and a half. i don't know. like hell if i'm ever gonna believe anything ever again. but do be careful at the gas pumps, now. i'm a bit paranoid.

but now, what i'm wondering, is this:
"Never siphon gasoline by mouth nor put gasoline in your mouth for any reason. Gasoline can be harmful or fatal if swallowed. If someone swallows gasoline, do not induce vomiting. Contact a doctor immediately. Use gasoline as a motor fuel only. Never use gasoline to wash your hands or as a cleaning solvent."
which is a real quote.
well...speaking of freak accidents...did you hear about the football player and the float?
what a strange day.
