darn teachers

~G2~

since we have to write so darn much for school, i'm always at my computer. but since i don't really like essays, i write in here instead. but since i have nothing to write, perhaps i'll actually write an essay. lessee here...things were good, but they were bad, too, and people just couldn't decide. they liked to be happy and see stuff, but they also were sad and didn't see stuff. they were very indecisive. there were royal people, too. hey, do you remember that unit on royalty in first grade? we actually spent a couple weeks learning what royalty is ("king=daddy, queen=mommy, scepter=stick"). oh yeah, and i remember one thing very clearly: my evil mean teacher said, "george washington did have slaves, but he was nice to them, so it was ok." and i actually bought it...and so did everyone else. (after pointing our fingers at the book illustration and shouting "slaves! slaves! bad!") it's quite amazing how simple things were. none of this "complexities of history" junk. hey where did they get off teaching us that cherry tree stuff as if it was true? was it just too much trouble to leave that stuff out instead of having twelve other history teachers tell us year after year that it isn't true? darn teachers...and they told jocelyn she could only pick one! well dang it she was too smart for you, wasn't she? grrr...
